Mindy Tan is a Singapore-born documentary photographer with a forte for capturing people and emotions

She began her career as a newspaper journalist, for breaking news and migrant labour, and won the Society of Publishers Asia Award for Excellence in Human Rights Reporting

Today, using a journalistic approach, her assignments vary from lifestyle to documentary and sports. She has photographed events like the Beijing Paralympics, the Singapore F1, and WTA Championships.

Editorial clients include National Geographic, Bloomberg
Commercial clients include Nike, Microsoft, and Samsung - As a Fujifilm ambassador, her work has involved producing videos and giving talks in Singapore, Japan and Germany, including the 90-min documentary film, Camera Punk
Workshop Highlights
Participants will walk about with the photographer to pick her brain:
- They will identify interesting street scenes and learn about ways to shoot the scene
- They will learn how to frame, juxtapose, and spot good angles
- There will be a review and feedback of their work at the end of the workshop
