This course teaches participants the practical tips on how to use your smartphone or digital camera to take better urban photos. Photos will be reviewed on site to help participants to understand the concept and execution.

What is Urban Photography:

• Although it is a fundamentally different form of photography, Urban Photography is often mistaken for Street Photography.
• While urban photography is a genre of photography that combines street photography with landscape photography, street photographers specialize in taking candid pictures of simply people.
• Architectural, fine art, portrait, landscape, and documentary photography are all a part of urban street photography.
• Urbanised photography captures daily life in public spaces.
• The goal of Urban Photography is to tell a story.

What will participants learn:

1) The secret to taking great street photos is to observe your surroundings and anticipate the opportune moment to capture your shot

2) Observe people’s actions in public while photographing them on the street. It is not just a face, but more importantly, a facial expression. Develop a regard for people.

3) Shoot in various weather conditions and various times of a day.

4) Learn how to build strong storylines with unique angles by utilizing light and shadow, forms, and colours.

5) Select the appropriate smartphone or camera settings

Who is eligible for this workshop:

For users of digital cameras and smartphones who are able to independently operate their own equipment.
