35th FIAP
Winner FIAP Gold Medal SINGAPORE

The International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP)
FIAP organizes Colour, Natural and Black and White Biennials every two years and they are one of the most important events offered by FIAP.
Biennials have a very particular characteristic, different from the international contests. It is not only the quality of the individual work that counts, but FIAP ask for coherent collections, as well of the viewpoint of inspiration and conception as form the viewpoint of execution and presentation.
The judgement of the collections is made in two steps:
1) the judgement of each work of the collection
2) the global judgement of the collection
For the 35th FIAP Black and White Biennial held in Oman, 46 countries from five continents have presented their collections, making it one of the largest participations in FIAP Biennials.
PSS is the National Federation representing Singapore in FIAP.
We presented a collection named “Concrete Wonders” which captured the geometry and lighting of local buildings with “new eyes”, shooting from different angles and coming up with new interpretations.
Congratulations to the team who contributed to this success and for doing us proud.
They are: David Tan, Derek Chiang, Gin Tay, Jeffrey Wong, Joohn Than, Joseph Ng, Justin Tan, Roger Khoo, Teo Sock Mui and Wong Twee Liang.
Special thanks to our PSS instructor, Jeffrey Wong, who imparts his knowledge and expertise to his students through our Black and White Fine Art Architectural Photography Course.
For this Biennial, he was delighted to team up with our members and students to deliver a cohesive set of elegant Black and White photos to clinch the Gold Award.
Majulah Singapura!
