Toy Expressions Photography Course

Blending the imaginary world into reality with creative use of digital cameras and artistic toy figurines.

Learn how to fully express a toy’s mood and attitude with creative use of photography techniques, blending background with different ratio and enter into an unreal and yet exciting world – through your creativity.

Expect to learn everything about shooting Toys Expressively from figurines to race cars.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
1) This Course is for Aged 21 & Above ONLY. (Partial Nudity)
2) Bring Toy/ Colored Paper/ Camera/ Lens/ Flash/ Tripod for Lesson 1.
3) Bring Toy/ Floor Mat/ Camera/ Lens/ Flash/ Tripod for Lesson 2 & 3.
4) Bring Laptop, Photos.



Course Lesson 1: Lesson & Indoor Shoot.
- Understanding & Manipulating of Toy Ratio & Managing the Differences. - Using the correct Apertures to create the realistic effect.
- Selecting the Correct Toys.
- Selecting the Correct Gears.
- Indoor Trial/ Demo Shoot.

Course Lesson 2: Outing
- Choosing Background
- Lighting & Flash Control
- Shooting Angles Explained.
- Panning Toys.
- On Site Demo.

Course Lesson 3: Outing
- Creating a Storyline.
- Creating Creative Composition
- Creating Added Effects.
- On Site Demo.
- On Site Critiques.

Course Lesson 4: Class
- Processing Tricks & Tips.
- Processing Demos.
- Open Group Critiques.
- Submission Guidelines.

Assessment
Upon completion of the course, participants are required to submit a set of six 8” x 10” or 8” x 12” mounted prints for assessment. Course certificates will only be awarded upon successful submission.

Duration : 12 weeks (2 hours per session)

Fees : $120 (member) $220 (non-member)

Mandarin and special timeslot courses subject to instructor availablity and minimum participation take-up rate. Participation take-up rates vary from course to course.
Should there be a change in commencement date, you shall be informed as soon as possible via phone or email.
Course fees, once paid, are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances, you may request for a reschedule to a later course, if available.
Course fees do not include any model, transport and miscellaneous costs to be incurred during outings and practical sessions (where applicable). These will be made known to participants prior to the event, where possible, and shall be borne by the participants.
All courses are conducted at The Photographic Society of Singapore located at Selegie Arts Centre (yellow building opposite PoMo), 30 Selegie Road, Singapore 188351.
Participant intending to purchase photographic equipment for any course/s are advised to seek instructor recommendations during the first lesson.
