"The Earth in 2000"
A Fiap Photo Project To Commemorate The Millennium
SUBJECT : To photograph the earth, from the
human point of view, from January, 1st to 31st December 2000.
Its people in
everyday life, our environment, culture, landscapes rural, urban and industrial
buildings, transport and everything that the hand of man is responsible for.
To be excluded : portraits, sport, natural landscapes and manipulated
images.
Print format : 20 x 30cm. to 30 x 45cm.

Type of print : monochrome or colour print.
Mandatory Information : Each print must have recorded on reverse side,
the following information:
Authors name, address, country, place and time
when image was exposed.
National selection: Closing Date: 31st December
2000.

Each federation, to select up
to fifty images for national collection to be sent to FIAP organiser in Europe
before January 31st, 2001. No more that 25% of images can be exposed outside own
country.
The number of works by author is limited to 4.
All federations
are encouraged to organise local exhibitions and to give prizes at national
level.
International Jury : One federation will take responsibility to
collect the national collections, when this is complete, an international jury
appointed by FIAP will select the images for publication in the proposed book.
International Judging Date: The jury will take place before
February 15th , 2001.
International Awards : The best works will
be awarded with 1 FIAP gold medal, 2 FIAP silver medals, 3 FIAP bronze medals
and 12 FIAP honorable mentions.
Book and Exhibition : To commemorate the
project, FIAP, in conjunction with FIAF (Italy), will publish a photographic
book, which will be launched, with an exhibition, at 26th FIAP Congress, to
be held in Italy in the year 2001. Each participating federation will have
images published in book, is hoped that each federation will buy at least ten
copies of the book.
All entries will be returned to federations.
