Faces of Angkor showcases the works of a group of photography enthusiasts exploring the lost Khmer kingdom of the past and its legacies.

The group of 21 PSS photographers embarked on a photo adventure in the scorching hot and humid city of Angkor (near modern-day Siam Reap, Cambodia). Getting up at the ungodly hours almost every day to catch a picture-perfect sunrise, the gruelling routine was well rewarded with remarkable shots tracing pre-dawn scenes to the very first break of light of the magnificent Angkor Wat, the highlight of the group's six days trip. Photos of other famous Khmer temples include The Bayon, the "Smile of Angkor" from the Buddha-like faces carved on the mass of stone towers and the well known Ta Prohm temple featured in Angelina Jolie's "Tomb Raider".

Besides visiting places of the past, the group also explored places of today, capturing the Khmer people daily life scenes, the Vietnamese boat people living along the Tonle Sap River, and glimpse of the beautiful costumes and poises of Apsara (celestial maiden) dancers.  At the end of the journey, the photographers were not only enchanted by the arresting architecture masterpieces of ancient Angkor but the one thing that touched their hearts the most was definitely the friendly faces of present Angkor.

The exhibition is organised by The Photographic Society of Singapore as part of its 60th Anniversary Celebrations.
