
Modern Image---The First China International Internet-based Photography Competition (hereinafter referred to as CIIPC), hosted by China Photographers Association (CPA) and Changsha Municipal People’s Government, aims to promote world photographic exchange and development by taking advantage of today’s network communication.
Now CIIPC sincerely invites photographic organizations, professional and amateur photographers from all over the world to join this grand event.
(A) Conditions of Participation:

Images can be submitted to either of the following categories:
(1) Documentary Category
(2) Art Category
The entrant can submit works to different categories, but the same work in different categories is not allowed.

Entries for the competition (color or monochrome) should be single shots. Montage images, collaborative images, and images decorated with frame, etc. will not be accepted.

The entrant shall retain the exclusive copyright to his/her work, and shall be responsible for all the legal disputes and/or other expenses regarding breach of reputation rights, portraiture rights, privacy rights and/or any other copyright laws governing P.R. China.

The entrant whose work or conduct found against public order or moral (include but not limited to those that may severely mislead the public cognition and those deceptive and illegal cases) will be deprived of the qualification for being accepted.

The entrant shall submit the original image of the documentary work for the confirmation of Organizing Committee within five days after the namelist of accepted works is released; otherwise, the qualification of acceptance will be deprived.

Awarded or accepted works in International Photographic Art Exhibition and National Photographic Art Exhibition held by CPA will not be accepted.

No entry fee or no return of submitted works in this competition.

All the works disobeying the conditions will be rejected from judging.
(B) Ways of Submitting Works

About 520 (depends on the actual number of submitted works) works will be accepted in this competition. And the jury consists of at least 9 specialists from home and abroad.
- Documentary Category: about 260 acceptances

- Art Category: about 260 acceptances
- Certificate for Special Contribution: about 10
Organizations or individuals who excel in organizing the entrants for the competition will be awarded the Certificate for Special Contribution.
(D) Category Details
Documentary Category:
Refers to works faithfully recording the social life, ecological environment and folk and customs. Except the adjustment on tunes, colors or composition, any alternation that is enough to weaken the authenticity of original image is prohibited. Besides the title, each work should have its brief introduction (maximum 200 words, including the time, place and main points of the event).
Art Category:
Refers to works highlighting subjective emotions and aesthetics, and the subject can be related to natural scenery, social life, cultural landscape, architecture, figure, etc.. Works of this category include digital images with special effects, experimental photographic works and so forth.
(E) Additional Incentives
The Organizing Committee will recommend one of the Gold Prize winners to be the judge of the next competition.
Organizations or individuals awarded the Certificate for Special Contribution as well as Gold and Silver Prize winners will be invited to the opening ceremony of the CIIPC Exhibition, to be held in Juzizhou, Changsha on October 22, 2010, and the one-week photographic tour. The Organizing Committee will arrange the food, accommodation and transportation for the invitees and bear the corresponding fees spent during the week, and the invitees are required to pay for his or her own travel expenses to and from Changsha City, etc..
Entrants whose works are accepted will be presented an exquisite e-catalogue of all the accepted works.
(F) Notes
Hosts reserve the right to reproduce any image for publication, catalogue, on an Internet website and/or displayed in media related to the exhibition without payment of any fee to the entrant.
The results will be released on www.iopf.com.cn and the related media of CPA including www.cpanet.cn, etc.
The accepted works will be firstly exhibited in Juzizhou, Changsha on October 22, 2010.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right of final interpretation for this competition.
The photographers submitting his/her works to the competition will be regarded as accepting the rules mentioned above.
